Melissa Brun, Operations Manager


Melissa Brun has a bachelors and a performers certificate in cello performance from Purchase College Conservatory, SUNY, and is currently on faculty at Millersville University.  She also teaches at Waldron Mercy Academy, in addition to hosting her own private studio.  Additionally, Melissa is head of the Preschool Theater Department at the West Chester Studio for the Performing Arts.  She is a founding member of the chamber-folk sextet, The Sound Accord, with whom she tours and presents at various American String Teachers Association conferences across the country.  As a String Clinician for D’Addario Orchestral, Melissa gives free educational workshops to students and teachers in the Philadelphia area about the string-making process, why strings make a difference, and how to make thoughtful string choices.

In 2007, Melissa won the Bach-Handel competition at Shenandoah University, and went on to solo with the Mary Green Singers on their 25th Anniversary Europe tour.  Classically, she has played with various local symphony orchestras, and has premiered works by Lee Hoiby, Georgi Andreev, and Robert Maggio.

Also an avid pit musician, Ms. Brun has performed at the American Music Theater in Lancaster, PA, and frequently subs in the pit at the The Fulton Opera House (Ghost, Treasure Island) and Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia (South Pacific, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Matilda).  She has also played with Broadway touring companies (Cinderella, A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Matilda) and has soloed with Broadway stars, Kristin Chenoweth and Jonathan Groff.
