The Chester County Youth Orchestra provides an opportunity for students in grades 6-12 to experience the joy of making music with a full symphony orchestra, and allows them to meet fellow musicians from school districts across Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.
CCYO is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Charitable Organization. All donations to CCYO are tax deductible!
CCYO is dedicated to giving young musicians in Southeastern Pennsylvania the chance to grow musically by performing challenging works from the standard orchestral literature as well as music from the cinema and the Broadway Stage. These talented students hone their performance skills and learn a wide variety of music. As members of the CCYO, students gain experience playing music of many different composers, styles, and time periods.
In 2024, CCYO announced a strategic partnership between the Chester County Youth Orchestra and the Immaculata Symphony. This dynamic partnership will create unique opportunities for our talented young musicians and seasoned symphony members to perform side-by-side in a series of unforgettable concerts. Through this innovative collaboration, members of both ensembles will benefit from enriched learning experiences, expanded performance opportunities, and the chance to forge lasting connections with fellow musicians.
Each spring, CCYO performs a benefit concert to raise funds for local non-profit organizations. Past organizations include – The West Chester Food Cupboard and Musicopia.
